Overview
The Rolls Royce Wraith is a four seat fastback coupe carrying 624 hp, more than any other Rolls Royce in our fleet, discontinued and replaced in the current lineup by the electric Spectre, which makes it a scarcity piece. Renters choose it over the Ghost for a self drive day, a bucket list birthday, or a coastal run where the V12 is the point.
How It Drives
There is a short dead zone at the top of the throttle, the car asking if you really mean it, before the rear end hunkers down and it projects forward with a distant growl. That makes the Wraith a weekend driver's car rather than an airport car, with two rear seats and a modest trunk.
Who Rents It
Renters who want to drive a Rolls Royce Wraith, not be driven in one, book it most often. Self drive birthdays, anniversary drives, and coastal runs where the destination matters less than the road suit the Wraith well. Photo and video work built around the two door coach doors and the fiber optic Starlight Headliner, available as an option, lit up with the door open, favors it too. It is a weekend car rather than an airport car, with two rear seats and a modest trunk, and it draws a renter chasing the last V12 coupe of its kind rather than daily practicality.
Trim Breakdown
The Rolls Royce Wraith is the marque's V12 coupe and the range is small. It covers the standard Wraith, the Black Badge and a set of limited Collection runs. Our fleet runs the standard Wraith.
Wraith
The Wraith we run makes 624 hp and 590 lb-ft from a 6.6 liter twin-turbo V12 driving the rear wheels through an 8 speed automatic. Satellite Aided Transmission reads the navigation data and holds a gear through a corner it already knows is coming. There is no rev counter and no paddle shifter, only a Power Reserve gauge and the Low button.
Wraith Black Badge
The Wraith Black Badge keeps the same 624 hp and raises torque to 642 lb-ft. The grille, the Spirit of Ecstasy and the window surrounds are finished in dark chrome, carbon composite wheels replace the standard set, and the suspension and steering are retuned for a firmer response. The gearbox also holds gears higher before shifting. We do not run one.
Wraith Black Arrow and Collection cars
The Wraith Black Arrow is the final limited run of the model, 12 cars built on the Black Badge with a 2 tone paint scheme and a fixed interior specification. Earlier runs include the Kryptos Collection of 50 cars, which hides an encrypted pattern inside, the Eagle VIII of 50 cars and the Luminary Collection. All are bespoke commissions rather than trims and we run none of them.
