The white Rolls Royce Spectre with the turquoise interior is based in Los Angeles. It is the electric Rolls, a 2-door coupe with the widest coach doors in production and stars in the headliner and the door panels. It is for the person who wants to have driven it, and for the valet-stand departure where nobody hears you leave. It goes out to clients across Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire.
There is no start-up. Press the button and only the dash wakes, because the 2 electric motors have nothing to say at rest. Tug the handle and the coach door opens itself. Hold the brake and it closes. Then you roll off and the quietest thing on the street is the car. 577 hp and 4.4 seconds to 60, delivered as a single long shove with no gear changes, while the battery under the floor does the job of sound deadening. The suspension decouples the anti-roll bars on a straight road so each wheel moves alone, then locks them together when you turn in. Coldwater Canyon up to Mulholland Drive shows you both halves. It stays flat, the steering is quick for an 18-foot car, and the only sound is tire hush. Go slow. It was never built to hurry.
White body, black grille, black wheels and a turquoise cabin. In direct sun the white goes bright and the black grille reads as a shape cut out of it, so shoot the nose low and head-on with the split headlights framing the Spirit of Ecstasy. In open shade the turquoise comes up and the door-open shot is the one, that enormous coach door swung wide. After dark is where this car wins. The grille lights from behind, the starlight comes on and the lit fascia spells Spectre across the passenger dash. Close detail is the rotary controller with the Spirit of Ecstasy set into it. These were shot outside The Maybourne Beverly Hills and along Rodeo Drive. Both still work.
We run 3 Spectres and this is the only white one, and the only one based in Los Angeles. The grey Spectre in Orange County has an orange cabin at $1,795 a day. The Salamanca Blue car in San Diego is $2,595. This one sits between them at $2,295 with a $5,000 deposit and 50 miles a day. White over turquoise is the loudest pairing of the 3, built for the door-open photo. Grey is the quiet spec. If the shoot is in Beverly Hills, this is the one.
This is the standard Spectre. It brings dual electric motors at 577 hp, all-wheel drive, rear-wheel steering, powered coach doors, the lit grille and the Planar suspension. This car is white over turquoise leather with white piping on the seats, with the grille and the wheels finished black instead of chrome. The photos show the starlight headliner, the illuminated Spectre fascia on the passenger side of the dash, embroidered RR headrests, the rear console with its own vents, and the rotary controller with the Spirit of Ecstasy set into the dial. It also carries starlight in the door panels. 4 seats, 2 doors, 50 miles a day included.
