Renters book it as a wedding party SUV or a hotel arrival car, for an Italian badge the valet stand rarely sees.
How It Drives
The V6 sits quiet with its valves closed until Sport opens them, and the pull builds as a steady shove rather than a sudden shunt, with peak torque available low in the rev range. That makes the Levante a car for the arrival and for the exhaust note rather than for a hard corner.
Who Rents It
The Maserati Levante is booked as a wedding party SUV with five real seats, and as a hotel arrival car for a renter who wants an Italian badge rather than a German one. Families book it for the same badge appeal without the volume of a more aggressive luxury SUV, and some renters book it simply to use the Sport mode exhaust as entertainment on an otherwise ordinary errand. It suits a renter who has already owned or rented the common luxury SUVs in this class and wants something the valet stand has not seen twice in one week, and who cares more about the exhaust note than outright cornering ability.

Maserati built the Levante as a five seat SUV on one platform with two engine families, a twin-turbo V6 across the lower grades and a twin-turbo V8 at the top. Our fleet runs the Levante S.
Maserati Levante GT
The Levante GT is the entry car, running a 3.0 liter twin-turbo V6 making 345 hp through an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. It keeps the air suspension, the soft close doors and the Sport mode exhaust valves that every Levante carries, so it sounds like the rest of the range with less urgency underneath. We do not run the GT.
Maserati Levante Modena
The Levante Modena sits beside the GT on output, sharing the same 345 hp tune of the V6, and separates itself on specification. Body coloured wheel arches, specific wheels, piano black or aluminium interior trim and upgraded leather are the substance of it. It is a trim and appearance step rather than a mechanical one. We do not run the Modena.
Maserati Levante S
The Levante S is the version in our fleet. It takes the same 3.0 liter twin-turbo V6 and tunes it to 424 hp, which is the whole difference from the GT and the Modena. A renter gets the same engine character and the same exhaust valve behaviour with more urgency underneath, plus gloss black calipers carrying the Maserati script.
Maserati Levante GTS
The Levante GTS is the first V8 rung. Maserati drops in a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 making 523 hp, which changes the noise completely, adds a deeper reserve of torque in the middle of the rev range and firms the damper calibration. It also gains larger brakes. We do not run the GTS, so no Levante in our fleet carries a V8.
Maserati Levante Trofeo
The Levante Trofeo is the flagship, using the same 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 turned up to 582 hp with 538 lb-ft, a Corsa driving mode with launch control, a carbon fiber bonnet vent treatment and a 187 mph top speed. It is the fastest Levante Maserati built and the loudest one. We do not run it.
