How It Drives
First Edition is the launch specification Bentley builds for a new Continental, and it carries the highest output W12 we run at 626 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. That is 74 more horsepower than the other W12 in our fleet and drops the run to 60 to 3.8 seconds, the quickest Bentley we rent. The delivery is still entirely undramatic. Twelve cylinders means the torque arrives from just above idle and never surges, so climbing Ortega Highway the car simply gathers speed without the theatre a V8 provides elsewhere in our fleet. Then you look down and find yourself going considerably faster than intended, with a 207 mph top speed on tap that nothing else here can match.
How It Photographs
White inside and out on a First Edition gives you the specification badging and detail work that separate it from a standard Continental, and those are what to shoot close. The First Edition treatment appears on the sill plates, the headrests and the exterior badging, so a viewer who knows the car can tell what it is.
