How It Drives
The V8 is the lighter and quicker Continental in our fleet, and the difference shows up first in the nose. Removing four cylinders takes real weight off the front axle, so this car turns into a bend more willingly than the twelve cylinder GTC we also run. 542 horsepower and 0 to 60 in 4.0 seconds, close to a second quicker than the W12 car at our lower price point. Take it through the bends on Santiago Canyon Road and the difference is immediate, a harder edged exhaust note and a nose that answers the wheel rather than following a beat behind it. The trade is character. This car sounds athletic. The W12 sounds like nothing at all.
How It Photographs
White with a red interior is the boldest specification we run, and it works because the Continental's bodywork is all long curves with almost no hard creases, a shape only a light exterior color shows off properly. Shoot it roof down on Newport Coast Drive with Pelican Hill in the background and the red hide running through the middle of a white body gives the frame its focal point without any effort. Direct daylight along the coast is fine on this color. Shoot the front three quarter low to hold the long bonnet, then close in on the knurled metal controls and the red stitching inside.
Why This One
This is the quickest V8 we run in this body, four seconds flat to 60, and the only Continental GTC with a red interior. The other white Continental in this color tier has a white interior instead, which is softer and more editorial, and the black car is a twelve cylinder that is smoother and nearly a second slower. Only the First Edition, a different trim entirely, is quicker than this one, and it runs at a higher rate. Book this car when you want the convertible to feel fast rather than calm, and when the cabin needs a color of its own.

The 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 makes 542 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque, sent through all wheel drive and an eight speed gearbox to a 198 mph top speed, quickest to 60 of any V8 Continental we run at 4.0 seconds flat. Standard on this generation are three chamber air springs, Bentley Dynamic Ride's active anti roll system and organ stop metal vents. A dashboard that rotates between a screen, analogue dials and plain veneer is available on this generation as an option, so ask before you book if that is the deciding feature.
