Ferrari Purosangue Rental in Los Angeles

The dark grey Ferrari Purosangue with the black and yellow interior is based in Los Angeles. It is the Ferrari for 4 adults, a naturally aspirated V12 with 4 doors, and the rear doors open backwards so the arrival is the moment. Book it for the group dinner, the hotel entrance, or the family weekend where a 2-seater would not work. It serves Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire.

THE DRIVE

How It Drives

The ride is the first thing you notice. The Purosangue has no anti-roll bars at all. Instead an electric motor on each damper pushes and pulls the wheel to hold the body flat, so it rides soft over broken asphalt on Sunset and then corners flat on Mulholland without changing a setting. Touch the start pad on the wheel and the 6.5L V12 wakes with a whirr rather than a bark. It sits behind the front axle, naturally aspirated, 715 hp at 7,750 rpm, and it gets louder and sharper the higher it climbs. The all-wheel drive is rear-biased, so it still feels like a Ferrari when you push. The steering needs your forearms rather than your wrists, and it does not surprise you at the first corner. Take it over Mulholland Drive from Coldwater Canyon with 4 aboard.

THE LOOK

How It Photographs

Dark grey over black with yellow stitching keeps the car quiet until the doors open, and the doors are the photograph. In direct sun the grey goes metallic and shows every fender line, and the yellow calipers inside the dark wheels are the first colour the eye finds. In open shade the body turns almost black and reads as a long low coupe. After dark only the headlights and calipers show. Take the side view with both rear-hinged doors open and the yellow-stitched seats showing. Shoot close on the yellow caliper behind the spoke. These photos were taken at a hotel entrance with flags over the drive. The Beverly Wilshire at the foot of Rodeo Drive is where it belongs.

THE PICK

Why This One

We run 2 Purosangues. The other is black over red and based in Orange County. This is the grey one with the yellow stitching, the only Purosangue we base in Los Angeles, the quieter spec of the 2 outside and the one where the yellow calipers and stitching do the talking. If you need 4 real seats and a V12 out of a Los Angeles pickup, this is the car. Pick the Orange County one if you want the black and red pairing and an Orange County start.

THE BUILD

What's On This One

This is the Purosangue, the 4-door, 4-seat Ferrari, in its one factory trim. Standard on it is the 6.5L naturally aspirated V12 at 715 hp, the 8-speed dual-clutch, all-wheel drive with rear-wheel steering, carbon ceramic brakes, active suspension with no anti-roll bars, rear-hinged electric rear doors, 4 individual seats, a passenger display and the Burmester audio. This one is dark grey on dark 5-spoke wheels with yellow calipers, with the Scuderia shields on the front wings. Inside it is black leather with yellow stitching throughout, a yellow Cavallino stitched into each of the 4 headrests, a carbon steering wheel with the shift lights, and quad exhaust tips at the back.
