The Verde Mantis green Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica with the black alcantara and green-stitched interior is based in Los Angeles. This is the rear-drive Huracan for the person who wants the STO's engine in a body that fits a valet lane, in the green that strangers photograph before they read the badge. Delivery is available across Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire.
The engine comes first in this one. The Tecnica carries the STO's 5.2L naturally aspirated V10, 631 hp with the redline past 8,000 rpm, all of it to the rear wheels. Flip the red flap, press the button, and it catches with a bark and settles to a hum. In Strada the valves close and it idles down to a note you can take through Beverly Hills without anyone wincing. The 7-speed twin-clutch creeps like a normal automatic. There is no front driveshaft, so the nose is lighter and the steering cleaner than the all-wheel-drive Evo. Toggle Sport, climb Coldwater Canyon to Mulholland Drive and let it run to 8,000 in 2nd, where the sound hardens and the car pivots on its rear-wheel steering with no front axle pulling it straight. The carbon ceramic brakes squeal cold. Normal.
Verde Mantis is the green people mean when they say Lamborghini green, and here it sits over black wheels, green calipers and a black roof, so no second colour fights it. In direct sun it goes almost fluorescent and the body lines disappear, so shoot it in open shade or the last hour of light. After dark it reads lime under street light and the green calipers glow behind the spokes. Take the rear three-quarter, where the fixed wing, the ducktail and the twin high exhausts stack. Close detail, the green door insert inside. These photos were not taken in Southern California. Shoot it on Rodeo Drive early on a Sunday, or outside the Beverly Hills Hotel at dusk.
We run 2 Huracan Tecnicas and this is the green one, based in Los Angeles. The other is bright blue and lives in Orange County at the same $1,395 a day. Among the 4 Huracans we keep in Los Angeles, this is the only rear-drive Huracan without a race livery, and the only Huracan we have in Verde Mantis. If you want the STO's engine without the STO's $2,495 rate and bucket seats, this is the car. If you want the roof off, take the Evo Spyder instead.
Tecnica is the rear-drive Huracan built between the Evo and the STO. It carries the STO's 631 hp V10, rear-wheel drive, rear-wheel steering, torque vectoring, a fixed rear wing, a longer tail with a vertical rear window, Y-shaped front intakes, carbon ceramic brakes and the portrait touchscreen with CarPlay. This car is Verde Mantis over black wheels with green brake calipers and a black roof. Inside it is black alcantara on the seats, dash and wheel, with green contrast stitching, bright green inserts on the door panels, a green band at the top of the wheel and the red start flap in the centre console. 2 seats and a 150 litre frunk.
