A hand built 4.0 liter twin turbo AMG V8 makes 603 horsepower in a full size luxury sedan, sent through all wheel drive to sixty in 3.4 seconds, quick enough to worry a sports car while carrying five people on air suspension. The trick is how completely it hides both halves of itself. Cruising through Newport Beach it is a quiet S-Class. Push the mode selector toward Sport Plus and the exhaust opens and the dampers firm up, and the whole car turns into something that has no business being this large or this quiet at a standstill.
How It Photographs
White over a white interior is the boldest specification in our Mercedes-Benz sedan fleet, and it photographs completely differently from the dark executive cars we also run.
