The Chalk Porsche 911 Carrera T with the black interior is based in Los Angeles. T is the lightweight Carrera, the same 379 hp engine with the rear seats taken out, the sound deadening thinned and the suspension lowered, so it's the 911 for the person who books for the drive and not the photo. Chalk is the off-white that reads as chosen, not default. We deliver it across Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire.
The chassis is what you feel first. The T sits 10 mm lower than a standard Carrera on sport suspension, there's less insulation between you and the road, and there are no rear seats, so the car is lighter and you hear more of it. Over the expansion joints on the 101 it's firm, not harsh. The 3.0 twin-turbo flat-six makes 379 hp and the sport exhaust is standard, so the note is deeper than a base Carrera's. The PDK shifts itself in traffic, and the mode dial on the wheel sharpens the throttle and the dampers. Sport Response gives you 20 seconds of everything. Steering is weighty and clear. Where it lands is Angeles Crest on a weekday morning, sightlines open, turnouts empty, the car settling into each corner and the rear tyres hooking up on the way out.
Chalk over black, dark grey wheels, black Carrera T script along the doors. Chalk changes most with the light. In direct sun it goes bright white and the body lines flatten, so shoot early or late. Under open shade or an overcast sky like this, it turns a soft grey-white and the curve of the hips shows. After dark it holds light better than any dark 911 under street lamps. Take the side profile with the rear spoiler up, so the script and the wheels line up. Shoot the 911 Carrera T badge under the spoiler close. A parking roof like this one works, and so does the concrete outside Walt Disney Concert Hall in the last hour of light.
This is the only Carrera T we run. Our other Los Angeles Carreras are the grey GTS coupe at $795, the black Cabriolet at $595 and the black Targa 4 GTS at $595. The T is the only hardtop Carrera we keep in Los Angeles at $595, and the only one in Chalk. For the same money as the Cabriolet you get the stripped version of the car instead of the open one. Book it for the road, and for the colour.
The Carrera T is the lightweight Carrera. Standard on it over the base car is sport suspension 10 mm lower, Sport Chrono with the mode dial, the sport exhaust, a rear seat delete, reduced sound insulation, lightweight glass, Carrera T door script and badges, and 20 and 21-inch wheels in dark grey. This one is Chalk with the script and the badging in black, dark grey wheels and a black interior with black sport seats. It has the PDK automatic with the small toggle shifter and paddles, not the manual, and the centre analogue tach. 2 seats. 3.0 twin-turbo flat-six, 379 hp, rear-wheel drive, 0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds.
