The black Porsche 911 GT3 Touring with the full Miami Blue interior is based in Los Angeles. Touring means the GT3 without the wing, the same 4.0 flat-six to 9,000 rpm in a body that looks like a Carrera until it starts. It's the driver's booking for someone who doesn't want to explain the car, and the blue cabin is the surprise when the door opens. You can have it brought to you in Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire.
The steering gives it away in the first 50 feet. The GT3 runs a double-wishbone front axle from the race car instead of the struts on every other 911, and the wheel fizzes in your hands, light, quick, constantly reporting what the front tyres are doing. On a straight road it tugs at cambers and you learn to hold it loosely. Then the engine, a 4.0 naturally aspirated flat-six with 502 hp that idles with a hard rattle and pulls to 9,000 rpm with a wail from behind your head. The PDK is instant on the paddles and calm in traffic. Without the wing it's the same car underneath, same splitter, same noise. Where it lands is Latigo Canyon off PCH, hairpins stacked above the ocean, the front end digging for grip where a Carrera would push wide.
Black outside, Miami Blue inside, on black centre-lock wheels with calipers painted to match the cabin. Outside it's a stealth GT3, so the photo is the door open. In direct sun the black goes to mirror and the blue seats glow through the glass, so shoot from the side with the window down. In open shade the blue calipers are the only colour outside, so shoot the wheel. After dark, cabin lights on, it reads electric blue through the windows. Take the three-quarter with the driver door open. Shoot the blue caliper behind the black spokes close. In Los Angeles, a quiet street in the Arts District early on a Sunday, plain walls and nothing to compete with the blue.
This is the only GT3 Touring we run and the only GT3 we have with a coloured interior. Our other 2 non-RS GT3s, the Guards Red one in Los Angeles at $1,195 and the grey one in Palm Springs at $1,295, carry the wing and black cabins. This one is $1,395 and buys the quietest-looking GT3 with the loudest cabin, black over full Miami Blue. For the driver who wants the racing-department engine without the race-car look, nothing else we run does it.
The Touring package takes the GT3 and removes the wing, replacing it with the extending rear spoiler and a GT3 touring script on the deck, and swaps suede for leather on the dash. Everything else is the GT3, the 4.0 naturally aspirated flat-six with 502 hp, the double-wishbone front, the front splitter, centre-lock wheels and the rear seat delete. This one is black with black wheels and the brake calipers painted Miami Blue. The interior is the full Miami Blue leather, seats, dash tops, door panels and console, with blue stitching and a black steering wheel. The seats are the adjustable sport seats, not the fixed buckets. PDK automatic. 2 seats. Rear-wheel drive, 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds.
