The dark green Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato with the white livery and the black alcantara interior is based in Los Angeles. This is the Huracan for the person who wants the V10 and the badge without the low nose, a car you can put on a dirt turnout for the photo and drive home over a broken canyon road. It reaches Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire.
The ride is the first thing you notice. The Sterrato sits 44 mm higher than a normal Huracan on wider tracks and all-terrain tyres with tall sidewalls, so the hard edge every other Huracan has over a speed bump is gone. The 5.2L V10 behind you is the same naturally aspirated engine, 602 hp through all 4 wheels, and the scoop on the roof feeds it, so under throttle the intake noise comes from above as well as behind. The 7-speed twin-clutch shuffles through traffic like an automatic. Take it up Latigo Canyon Road from the coast, where the surface breaks up through the hairpins, and the Sterrato stays flat and quiet over patches that would rattle the STO. Top speed is capped at 162 mph and you will never miss it.
Verde Turbine is a deep green that reads almost black in flat light, so this car wants direct sun, where the metallic flake lifts and the white hood stripes, bronze wheels and black fender cladding all separate. In open shade it goes to bottle green and the 63 decals on the doors carry the frame. After dark, light the nose, because the LED bar and the 2 light pods in the bumper are the detail nobody else has. Take the front three-quarter from low to show the ride height and the roof rails. Close detail, the Sterrato script under the 63 on the door. Shoot it on the dirt lot at the Encinal Canyon summit with Point Dume behind it.
This is the only Sterrato we run, and nothing else in the Huracan lineup does what it does. Our other 3 Los Angeles Huracans, the STO, the Tecnica and the Evo Spyder, all sit low and want smooth pavement. The Sterrato takes a dirt turnout, a steep driveway and a broken canyon road without a nose lift, and it is the only Huracan we have on all-terrain tyres. At $1,295 a day it matches the Evo Spyder and sits $100 under the Tecnica. Book it when the location is rough.
Sterrato is the raised, all-terrain Huracan, and Lamborghini built 1,499 of them. It brings the 602 hp V10, all-wheel drive, a 44 mm lift, wider tracks, all-terrain tyres, a roof-mounted air intake, roof rails, an LED light bar on the nose, underbody protection and a Rally drive mode alongside Strada and Sport. This car is Verde Turbine, a dark metallic green, with the white hood and fender livery, 63 decals on both doors, Sterrato script on the sills, black wheel-arch cladding, bronze wheels and the twin LED pods in the front bumper. Inside it is black alcantara throughout, with carbon-shell sport seats, hexagon stitching, an alcantara wheel, the portrait touchscreen and drilled pedals. 2 seats.
