The pearl white Mercedes-Benz Maybach S680 with the white and grey interior is based in Los Angeles. It's the 12-cylinder Maybach, the one for the wedding, the hotel arrival, the day when the back seat matters more than the driver's seat. White on white reads clean in every photo, and the V12 badge on the fender is the only thing that announces it. It goes anywhere in Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire.
Under the hood is a 6.0 twin-turbo V12 with 621 hp, and the whole point of it is that you won't notice. It starts in silence, idles without a tremor, and when you press the pedal the car gathers speed in one long push with no gear you can feel. 0 to 60 takes 4.4 seconds. Air suspension and rear-axle steering mean it rides flat and turns tighter than a sedan this long should. Pick someone up at LAX and the first 10 minutes are Sepulveda and the 405, the least scenic stretch in the city, and inside it's the quietest 10 minutes of their trip. Whoever is in back can recline the seat, run the calf massage and close the blinds. Drive it gently. It rewards that, and so does the person behind you.
Pearl white over a white and grey cabin, on chrome pinwheel wheels. In direct sun the pearl lifts and the body goes bright, so expose for the car and let the background fall away. In open shade it turns a soft grey-white and the chrome grille does the work. After dark it's the Maybach that still shows up in a dim driveway. Take the front three-quarter from low, so the grille bars and the wheels fill the shot. Shoot the V12 badge on the front fender close. These photos are studio shots, so for the real set park it under the entrance at the Beverly Wilshire, or at the curb on Rodeo Drive as the sun drops behind the storefronts.
This is the only Maybach S680 we run. Our 2 Maybach S580s are V8 cars, the two-tone green in Los Angeles at $695 and the black one in Orange County at $795. The S680 is $895 and it buys the V12, 621 hp and white over white, the one combination that reads in every wedding photo. If the car is in the pictures, this is the one. If it's just the ride to the pictures, the green S580 is $200 less.
The S680 is the top Maybach sedan. Standard over the S580 is the 6.0 twin-turbo V12 with 621 hp and all-wheel drive, plus the V12 badges on the front fenders. It carries the full Maybach kit, the stretched wheelbase, the longer rear doors, the vertical-bar grille, rear-axle steering, air suspension and the reclining rear seats with calf massage. This one is pearl white outside with chrome forged pinwheel-style wheels. Inside the seats are white diamond-quilted leather, the dash and door tops are dark grey, the steering wheel is black, and the door sill plates read Maybach. 4 seats, 2 in front and 2 executive seats behind. 0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds.
