How It Drives
The 6.75L twin-turbo V12 makes its 563 hp without ever seeming to try. Peak torque arrives just above idle, there is no rev counter, and the Power Reserve gauge barely stirs at a cruise. So the first 10 minutes feel like an electric glide with a faint baritone somewhere behind you. The car kneels 40mm to let you in, rises when you press start, and you sit high, looking down the long hood at the Spirit of Ecstasy. In town it surprises you twice. Rear-wheel steering turns it in half the lock you expected, and the long throttle asks for 2 or 3 times the pedal you would give a normal car. Take Sunset Boulevard west past the Beverly Hills Hotel toward the Bel Air gates at a slow roll. That is where this car makes sense.
How It Photographs
White paint over a purple cabin is the whole picture. Open any door and the magenta leather pours out of a white box, so shoot it with the coach doors open and the lambswool mats showing. In direct sun the white reads clean and the chrome grille throws hard highlights, so take the grille head-on with the Spirit of Ecstasy centered. In open shade the purple goes deep, which is the frame for the rear bench. After dark the starlight headliner over purple seats is the close detail. The two-tone wheels keep the side profile from going flat. Shoot it at the curb on Rodeo Drive, where the storefronts give the white something to sit against.
Why This One
We run 8 Cullinans across Southern California and this is the only one with a purple interior. Every other Cullinan we have is blue or orange inside.
