Exotic Cars for a Bachelor Party in Southern California: What Works and What It Costs

For a bachelor party you have 3 options. One supercar for the groom, one big SUV for the whole group, or a convoy of 2 or 3 cars. Split across the group, it comes out to $125 to $600 a person for the day, which is less than most bachelor party dinners. Book 2 to 3 weeks out, or 4 or more for a convoy on a summer weekend.

One car, an SUV, or a convoy

For 2 to 4 guys, one supercar is the move. The groom drives a Lamborghini Huracan down PCH, the best man rides shotgun, and everyone else follows and shoots video. It's $1,195 to $1,395 for the day.

For 5 to 8, get one vehicle everyone fits in. A Cadillac Escalade seats 7 and runs $295 to $595. A Lamborghini Urus seats 5 and runs $995 to $1,195. A Mercedes G63 seats 5 at $595 to $795. Everyone's in the same car, the cooler and the bags fit, and nobody gets left at a gas station.

For the guys who want the scene, a convoy. 2 or 3 supercars rolling into Newport or pulling up to a club on Sunset is an event for the people on the sidewalk too. We can deliver 3 cars to one address at the same time. A 3 car convoy runs about $2,500 to $4,000 for the day depending on the cars.

Where to go

West Hollywood for the nightlife. Sunset is built for arrivals, and the valet at any club on the strip changes the energy of the night when you hand him a Lamborghini key.

Malibu for the day version. PCH from Santa Monica to Point Mugu with the tops down, lunch at the pier, back before traffic. Relaxed, expensive-looking, no club.

Palm Springs for the weekend. A 2 hour convoy out the 10, a rented house with a pool, and open desert roads where you can actually use the cars. This one has gotten popular for a reason.

Newport Beach if you're staying local. Balboa Peninsula, dinner on the harbor, Lido at night. Park once, walk everywhere, and the car is the centerpiece of every photo.

Who drives

Anyone who wants to drive has to be on the contract as an additional driver before the rental starts, and has to pass the same license and insurance check as the primary renter. We call each driver's insurance company the same way. Get the names to us early so we're not making calls the morning of.

Pick one guy to be the coordinator. He handles the booking, the drivers, the delivery time and address, and the return. Bachelor parties that go sideways almost always go sideways because 6 people were each half in charge.

The one rule

If there's drinking, there's a chauffeur or a sober driver for the ride home, full stop. An exotic parked overnight outside a bar is a problem. A DUI in someone else's $250k car ends the weekend in a way nobody wants to explain. Plan the ride home before you plan the bar.

What it costs per person

A BMW M3 Competition for a day is $495, so $125 each across 4 guys. A Huracan at $1,295 is about $325 each across 4. A 3 car convoy at $3,000 split 8 ways is $375 each. The party bus and the bottle service you're replacing cost about the same, and nobody remembers the party bus.
