The hero car is parked, detailed and lit before the DP walks the location at call time.
Prometheus Exotics is an exotic and luxury car rental agency based in Orange County with cars across Los Angeles, San Diego, the desert and the Inland Empire. It is a network of 300+ vehicles chosen for variety, which for a production means the exact color and silhouette the treatment calls for, not the closest thing on the lot. A white Cullinan, a gold G63, a pink Huracan. The car is cast, and casting needs choice.

The cars productions ask for most are the Lamborghini Urus and Huracan, the Rolls Royce Cullinan and the Mercedes-Benz G63.

Choose by color and silhouette, give us the shoot date, set address and call time, and the car is delivered to set or picked up in Orange County. Commercials book 2 to 6 weeks out, videos inside a week.
Picture car rental in Southern California means a modern hero car on your call sheet, delivered to set in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Palm Springs or the Inland Empire. This page is for the producer or coordinator who needs a picture car rental for a commercial, a series, a music video or a creator shoot and wants 3 answers, whether we take a certificate of insurance, whether the car can be driven on camera, and whether it arrives at call time. The car is a character before anyone speaks.
The moment a production pays for is the car in the frame at call time, clean, in the right color, with paperwork that did not stall the shoot. After that it is one of 3 setups. The static hero shot is the car parked and lit with nobody driving. The pull-up is the door opening and the artist stepping out, the shot that becomes the thumbnail. The roller is the car tracked from a camera car or carried on a process trailer. A black Urus does the pull-up at night because the shape reads when the paint does not. A Huracan Evo Spyder does the roller because an open top gives the camera a clean line into the cabin. Between setups the car holds, hours of idling in heat with tool belts brushing past, so plan shade and a perimeter for it.
Cast by color and silhouette, not spec, because nobody hears the engine over the mix. Film car rental, movie car rental, picture cars for rent, same job. To rent a car for a music video, start with the arrival SUVs, the Lamborghini Urus, the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon G63 in black, white or gold and the Cadillac Escalade. The old money cars are the Rolls Royce Cullinan, Ghost, Dawn and Phantom in white, plus the Maybach GLS 600 for the back seat shot. The sports cars are the Lamborghini Huracan, pink included, the Ferrari F8 Tributo in red, the McLaren 720S in turquoise, and the Porsche 911 or Corvette C8 when the script just says sports car. The Tesla Cybertruck is the silhouette nothing else matches. For interiors pick an open top, the Huracan Evo Spyder, the 488 Spider or the Dawn, because rigging a camera into a closed coupe is tight. We do not supply classic or period cars, police cars, background fleets, stunt driving, rent-to-wreck cars, process trailers or camera cars. We supply the modern hero car that goes on the trailer, and the classic comes from a picture car house.
Each region sells a different frame. In LA it is the Arts District warehouse, the stage door in Burbank where the car sits on a hold day, and the PCH pull-outs in Malibu at golden hour, which take the city's own filming license. In Orange County it is a Newport Beach marina for a watch spot and the alleys of downtown Santa Ana when a video wants grit. In San Diego it is the arcades at Liberty Station and a Coronado beach for lifestyle work. In the desert it is the Salton Sea near Mecca for the end of the world look and Joshua Tree, 45 minutes north and inside the 250 mile line. In the Inland Empire it is Route 66 along Foothill Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga and the Cajon Pass with freight trains for scale. A warehouse controls light, sound, floor and privacy for the owner's fee alone. Public streets, bridges, beaches and parks need FilmLA or the city, and BLM land takes a month or more, so book the desert first, not last.
Commercials and series book in prep, 2 to 6 weeks out, and music videos book inside a week. Give us the shoot date, the set address, the call time and a named crew contact, and say static or rolling, because the two are planned differently and a roller puts miles on the car in loops. A commercial is 1 to 3 shoot days with possible prep and hold days around them, and a series takes the same car for weeks, which is where the multi-day discount does its work. Delivery to the set, the stage, the hotel or any of the 7 Southern California airports is quoted by address, or the car is picked up in Orange County. The car is collected at wrap, or the next morning when you tell us ahead of time that the day will run long. Desert car work runs late fall to spring, Laguna Beach issues no commercial permits between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and Coachella week in April is the densest week of content shooting in the valley, so book that one early.
A production books a picture car with a certificate of insurance, not a personal auto policy, and the certificate decides whether the car arrives. Expect to be asked for the additional insured name, the certificate holder, the coverage that applies to a hired car driven and parked, and the limits, and expect the wording to be checked, because a certificate that names the wrong entity or leaves out physical damage gets sent back. Brokers work business hours, so a Friday night video with a Monday broker is the classic failure. A production without its own policy cannot rent, so get the certificate moving before the call sheet is locked. Who drives is agreed in writing before the shoot day, a named driver from the production, a transportation driver the production supplies, or talent in the back of a Rolls Royce, Escalade or Range Rover with chauffeur service available on request. A music video car rental is a real production here, with the same certificate, call time and walk-around as a commercial, and a student film or creator shoot with the right paperwork books the same way. Nobody is prejudged for the word video in the request. The production is responsible for damage on set, so the walk-around at delivery and at wrap is done together, with the coordinator, in daylight.
Tell us the shoot date, the set address, the call time and the color in the treatment, and we come back with the cars that fit and what the certificate needs to say. From that point the car is on the call sheet, and your day is the dozen other vendors.
Cast by color and silhouette. Open tops are easier to light and rig for interiors, dark paint holds at night, white reads clean on a stage, and a low coupe needs a flat approach.

Los Angeles has the volume and the permits, Orange County has the clean glass and the coast, San Diego has murals and rooftops, the desert has empty roads, and the Inland Empire has warehouses.

Los Angeles is where most picture car days happen. The Sixth Street Viaduct over the LA River is the frame everyone wants, a hero car crossing the arches with the skyline behind it, on a FilmLA permit. A rooftop parking structure in Downtown Los Angeles is private property with the same skyline and ramps for a low roller. A black Urus reads at night on either. A Huracan Spyder gives the camera car a clean interior on Mulholland.

Orange County is the home base, so an Irvine office park or a Newport Coast driveway is the shortest run from our side to call time. Its empty glass plazas on a weekend morning are the commercial look, clean and quiet, with nobody in the background. A gated Newport Coast estate takes a location agreement and a white Ghost in the driveway. Student films out of Chapman book a Corvette C8 or a 911 and shoot in Anaheim.

San Diego gives a hero car contrast. Under the Coronado Bridge in Barrio Logan, Chicano Park's murals are lowrider ground, so a red F8 Tributo or a Cybertruck under the pylons reads as a choice, not a default. The Port is strict about picture cars on sidewalks and grass. East Village rooftops are private and look over the Gaslamp at night. Sunset Cliffs is the reliable golden hour, with salt spray that means a wash before the next setup.

Palm Springs is a rented house and an empty road. A flat-roof mid-century house with a pool and a driveway is a full video set on private property, the arrival in the driveway and the second setup by the pool, with a white Dawn or a blue G63 against white walls. Tipton Road runs past the windmills for the desert roller. Desert car work runs late fall to spring, and summer heat out here is real.

The Inland Empire is where the warehouse shoot lives. The districts of Ontario and Fontana give wide, empty streets on a weekend morning and private frontage with big doors and flat concrete, so music videos shoot there. El Mirage Dry Lake near Adelanto is a pale flat horizon in every direction, on a BLM permit that takes weeks, with dust that means a detail after. A satin black Urus or a Cybertruck on the lakebed is the shot.
